---------------------------------------- Broken rib september 16th, 2019 ----------------------------------------
Slowly, I'm recoving from my whooping cough. On my way
home from our cabin yesterday, I started coughing once
more, and, as you might guess from this posts title,
this resulted in a broken rib. This means that I will
be slave of pharma industries for a few more weeks,
painkillers are my new friends. Bummer.
Other than that a few positive things happened. A while
ago I found a local company selling refurbished PCs. My
work machine is ThinkPad X1 Carbon (3rd generation from
2015) with Linux on it. I missed having a BSD available
for private projects (we use FreeBSD for almost all
servers at work, but still). So I ordered a Thinkpad
X250 last week. Got it on tuesday and installed
FreeBSD. It's been a while since I manually configured
X11. Bluetooth seems to be a no go without a dongle,
but other than that, most things work fine. Graphics,
sound, power management (though I sometimes have
problems with suspend/resume), wireless network,
backlit keyboard. Still working on guesture support for
the trackpad, webcam and the SD-reader.
I also got hold of a Palm Keyboard for my Palm III on
Ebay, but I haven't had the time to try it out yet.
So long.
