Midnight Pub

night TV, dark smoke, moving moving moving

~tffb

The neighbor above, a TV purchased. A pleasant change. Previously there was not noise from that apartment. I think he meandered from room to room, finding spots on the floor to pass out on Fentanyl. My imagination runs whid. But, above me is something other than sky.

More importantly, I confirmed my lease is up July 15 (one month) and I will be out of this apartment, and into Ben Nor Apartments on the other side of town. I negotiated pro-rated rent, as I am on a monthly lease currently. Soon, measurements taken at new apartment - the faucet, window AC unit (well, wall unit - I can use almost any size window unit and fit to size), floor measurements (for getting rugs (laminate floors)), and other dimensional considerations.

A long term move this is. No neighbors above or below there. Corner apartment. Ground floor. A small garden outside my front patio (should I plant one) and even brushes/shrubbery along one side. A brick building with a "standard" layout, as I've seen this for model in a friends apartment years ago, though I never rented such a unit.

So tonight, with mumbled mumblings of a TV sequelched by floor and ceiling, the room pitch black as it always is, the phone screen lighting my jottings and amusing me into the morn (YouTube right now), I glance around the Midnight. Cig smoke trailing, coffee bold, I attempt a Smooth Criminal-like coin toss to the jukebox across the room - missing the slot and pinging over a pint of booze onto a table instead. Luckily Smudge was undisturbed.

I remain impressed with how well you turn otherwise standard issue events and their details into "poetry in motion".

(Heh... I originally typed 'standard' as 'tsandard', reminding me that we watched a Frasier episode called "A Tsar Is Born" last night....)
