maypop is lightweight admin and accounting software for small farm cooperatives that is served over the web. it is written as Tcl CGI scripts and has minimal dependencies.
having a central source of truth is important for a cooperative that needs to manage customers, orders, fulfillments, deposits, etc. across multiple producers. a handful of SaaS offerings exist, but their pricing models and lock-in add insult to injury when trying to survive with the extremely slim profits of small farming. maypop is completely free to use and stores all of your data in a single SQLite database file.
maypop accommodates the CSA model in which customers subscribe to seasonal shares. farmers define distribution dates and times and are able to track fulfillments for each customer. the packing list supports printer-friendly CSS. customer credits and debits are also tracked. a webcal/icalendar/ics link is generated for each customer, which they can subscribe to from their phone or desktop and receive reminders about pickup times and locations.
the "marketplace" allows producers to sell their excess beyond the CSA share commitments. inventory can be set, priced, sold, and distributed on any schedule.
