my silence when you spoke of ill
was not a thing of lessons
were you to ask me for a teaching
I ��d ask what you were trading
or of my own volition
perhaps share some experience
contract begets beginnings
a cup of tea mayhap, a book of poems
a warm seat by the fire, or research methods
but speaking lessons of my silence
claims your lying tongue may speak for me
where you asked for nothing
where I offered nothing
your voice is empty
false-speaking beyond my doorstep
claiming guest with windows broken
