Nothing Forever Stays In Vegas

through the lapse, followed
concept-tagging makes differentiation marginally easier
coding for the perceptual world most interact with
where one might assess the Nevada one ��s never been to
as here be dragons, inviolate until examined, unknown desert
joined in concept web to those thousand other deserts
curious stars above moving in glitter-perception
where one hasn ��t yet been, where the memory of being
branches in apprehension from whatever current
steady-state flows in, an ever-present now of over-there
through the gap, followed
layer digital upon that and peeking in, one has perhaps
one ��s own internal Vegas, unspoken, satellite lookdown
staunching gaps, connected refers displaying buying patterns
cab-tracking apps feeding insatiable perpetual consanguinity
movement of the alien one-blooded horizon, ignoring somehow
lake Mead ��s ongoing descant, mob-body hands lifting up
penetrating silt unnoticed, we distant sitters commenting
how strange those sculptures, wrought in old Detroit steel
rob attention �� bandage not working, everything, everything
through the past, followed
where slumber under every hill, abscess to court, watches still
patient, not needing to shoulder aside cold irony
now long rolling to rust, bleeding to dusty hashtag invisibility
upon the breath of a Midwest monocrop overlapping DC Metro
echoes old anchors in farmlands, well �� here it comes now
stepping to that gentle-Jack constitution, awash in its own thunder
low rumbles, then and now, thresholds at shifting attenuation
long lived, long loved, multiply-burned, while remote-disabled
tractors still in empty fields, yellow-green flags still waving
through the gap, followed
where index-keys overlap, matrices in delicious columniation
mind-state layers as though one might speak to one ��s vision
say today, thank-you, just the infra-red in seven steps a-dreaming
every longitudinal correction delaminating that dead-horse stick
raced twixt perdition and bet, realizing others separate
not by identification, but by isolation, that somnolent boxed place
trapping map-ward stanchions woven in iron braid, stolen
claiming somehow dream, awake, two deviant things
wake behind projected in supposition, no thousand simultaneities
through the apse, followed
