Curious Cure

by this point it ��s habit
no matter where I ��ve lived
new moon rolls in
all sweet empty waiting
scratching at my door
from whatever I ��ve eaten
ramen to good greens
pop a bit in a bowl
nothing that ��ll do damage
set the bowl outside
say hello to the empty
close the door
wait for the bowl
to stop moving
pull it back in
today, migraine
knew I ��d miss if I slept
so I set me on the porch
dark things over my eyes
cereal in hand waiting
tugging at my ankle
scratch-scratching
mblrgle hello from me
bit of cereal into the bowl
set beside me
waking before dawn
to hands pat-patting my face
and then a bowl of cereal
set ever so gently, right in my lap
migraine completely gone
