Carpet Red In Blinding

to that black tie affair
one might wear anything
so long as propriety
might be maintained
by handle, by hanging
by memory of death
one ��s own fashion
one ��s own murder
loop upon loop upon loop
one might gently carve
the most extravagant holes
hidden away under silk
linen un-starched
tears un-marched
one ��s own action
one ��s own leviathan
when asked to end one ��s self
instead, those bindings arch
shifting guard analysis
quick and quick rejected
false power of self-sacrifice
in being nice by pliance
one ��s own reason
one ��s own sanctuary
for we remember lynchings
by race, by grace, by ardor
excuses upon excuses
we disconnect our children
no more upon no more
shall we swing instead of thunder
