discovering kittens probably would have gone faster
if we ��d known the first thing about what cats looked like in the old days
before descending high orbit into the green
admittedly, we were distracted by the furry delights
offered with abandon in trade for shelter and meat, glorious meat
while we adapted to an ecosystem once again bloomed
searching, searching, and forgetting in the warm rolling hums
their softest tails, and no concern for bums in open air, constantly presented
consider, ears forward, the slow roll, the fundamental presentation
assuredly, we ��d have been many more years had someone, frustrated with maths
asked the cat on their lap, respectfully, if they ��d ever seen such glorious field incompetence
to which the cat replied, in all due seriousness
yes, but you ��re warm
you ��ve got the snuggles and meats
and your data is, admittedly
easy to misinterpret
sometimes, the archives simply say
here be dragons �� when all the while, our boon companions
bonded well, and waited the long game
to see if we ��d sort it out
still muttering feline grumbles about failures in archival restoration
the criminal misrepresentation of shed fur maybe one day clogging filtration
but the green is lonely, and now you ��re here
your ancestors unforgiven
but you ��re here �� finally �� we can get started
after this extended snuggle
