naming things supposedly makes them easier to work with
call it fighting mind, or combat time, or simply an internal expletive
one trains for it, or grinds enough life to just land there
wrapped around a concrete pylon, getting up low
behind the berm of some eastern nowhere bus stop
making grace of imprecision, or at least somehow elevating
going from unarmed to clinically flush, moving on
twenty years later, visiting a mugging, politely inviting
here, have some money, because it ��s nice to pay folks
for that sliding moment of almost following disarm
with body-body-head �� not like time ��s slowed down
but everything else shuffled wide �� walking a business associate
through not blocking lines, tracking every sound, every pressure
in that otherwise vast silence, automatic meat making words
thank-you for your time, and the purchase of this, this
mediocre, ill maintained brand-name firearm
are these custom grips, why would you do that
carve your name in on something you ��re going to be illegal with
please hand them an extra ten for Darwin grade personal taste
money meaning they live, one doesn ��t destroy customers
talking meaning they live, one doesn ��t breach etiquette
because it ��s the hitches in the undertone propagation
interrupt keeping them alive, not just at disarm
but familiar combat environment assessment
expecting more bodies while speaking clear and quiet
