having finally achieved the technology for modifying gender
it was incorrectly presumed that clients would flop from male to female or vice versa
and back, especially once the modifications were thirty seconds in the tank
just set the various assemblies on a shelf in suspension for later
because that technological advance meant trading out almost anything
became easy �� old poems done as show pieces, snails and puppy dog tails
grasped by purists as utter deviltry, while those of us beyond such small fears
dove in with our peers systematically broadening horizons
garages lined with shelf storage, rank upon rank of old selves
giving way to �� it ��s all me, just not where I am at the moment
biologically neutral synthetics and ceramics adding data grasps
even if the neurological interfacing sometimes got a bit weird
always needing to build profiles from scratch to avoid rogue patching
because no-one needs a lovely tail that reflexively wags when sneezing
a joyous immortality of whatever I am today �� and just going for it
