beyond the hill whereupon my carcass rests in splendor
a baying field urges on their chosen colors
rampant from the higher ground their cattle-cries ring thunder
white noise voiced unto rolling numbers spilled before
yet for my pleasure their distance grants me solace
a-tremble flowers ripple breezy chaos
bent to heaving will and celebration
two vowels a-wash before subsiding wonder
but here the dainty meats and cheeses sate me
to turn a page and sip my mead unsighted
hermit on the hill, deliveries reaching still
