the last time I walked this pattern
the moccasins were slight, beeswax in the leather
scented stitching, forest tapestry, twitching
threading in melody, pruning malady
licking at the memory
between field-walls of stone
oak giants of my home in slumber
build their boundaries, know their own
thorn beside the trail, gorse wuzzy
kit, hungry, pulls ash from bone ��s marrow
garden meal of field linen
licking at the memory
so let me set aside these iron-shot boots
one precious night, that I might fade
ever so comfortable
licking at the memory
