in that sliver of awareness
between madrigal and psalm
one needn ��t erase deity for tone
and silver-hearted whispers
where if suffering suffices
splice one askew the other
that we pick our own devices
your gods and mine at armistice
our lack of them as nice
your liturgy and mine recumbent
your slice of space
and mine
at peace
come then unto sanctuary
yours or mine will do
we ��ll put the kettle on a while
and muse the salving brew
