A Weir of Ourselves

we are told we are supposed to be in the world
where apparition of ourselves might somehow otherwise occupy our space
or our other selves might step into the shadow we have placed upon our selves
where self and structure, all these microscopic tabulations of difference
coagulate at the edges: good dog, heal, sit, stay, behave, betray, replay
e above high c twithering upon piano wire, two dowels reminding us of annihilation
our personal percussion tak tak, were we to back iota by iota
beta to the capa, one foot in Germanic persuasion, the other elated
still a ripple in that very first and only river that ��s ever been
evaporate until ledges: wealth, dispersion, immersion, emergence, convulsion, silver
baptism by nitration, reaction backing glass, where we are cold fulmination
never even brushed against, a fallow of torn and languish
head less ached in momentary splash, then not ached at all, diminished
an intransigent curriculum, where we are told one prayer at a time
we are supposed, to be in the world, one prayer at a time
edges neither brittle nor bowed, lest fallen, fragments sliver
a weir of our selves
