Kissing Moon
January 8, 2019
when I was first introduced to the war, it was a room of many cousins, none alike
uniform upon uniform, rank upon rank, cheerful and silken with eyes of melted glass
and I asked which introduction should I take, but each blank gaze reflected wire
each jaw dropped, just a touch, and as army spoke the words
come child, we are ire ��s solace, we warm in the bleat of passion, make yourself at home
in that room, a thousand stories for every reflected vision, brave honor and carven lunacy
mill race spinning gears for grist, stone upon stone, the grey of moon and flash of low gamma
all separate striations, starvations in threads, deadheaded the dandy lions
trust in flour, that the dust rise up, silo upon silo
to softly burn �� a thousand kisses upon the world
to cheer a lonely moon
