I want to find you in the morning like some traffic noise
pressed in against the parts of me that became inured, went numb
I want to find your fingers tracing a line that I cannot feel
I want to see your hands digging in, seeking in my being
I want to see you recognize that echo of yourself in the hollow of my skin
and have that hollow be so perfectly devoid of impression that it becomes revised
like a book opened only for the smell of its pages
I want, when you realize empty is godsend
to recognize the true import of empty
even invaded, I have been devoted for an eternity
all this - physicality - isn't even a lie
I want your come hither, knowing how your shadow will get no words
that articulation was only a model to be here, make this sound
that your entity required not even exhalation
I want to listen to where you have been, hearing no part of you
I want to drive a nail into your shadow
I want to stop breathing
this scent of you
