The Cube
July 11, 2002
the cube I see, composed of sand, rests upon a shadow,
border between the desert of its creation and the little distance
smaller than my hand, between it and the desert's shifting sands
cube charged by static, constant silicon motion, containment defining motion
motion defining sand, ripple reflection of the desert, softened at the edges
charge defining no rigid demon hiding corners
a ladder, but the ladder is of air, here, there, everywhere
a horse, pale beyond the burning of the sun, as though death were close
touching its mane, one calm resting hand of bone upon the plastic form
yea, though plastic were given life, circumscribing the base of the five
questing for sixth, invisible in shadow
no eyes, intake, outlet, a mockery of that which before made horses
animae of that plastic beyond silicon, drawn to charge
where eyes of the horse would be, indentation only, maintaining constant distance
charged particulate chaos of form, the five, shadow the sixth
liquid ephemeral motion of horse and ladder seventh
making storm of order, order of chaos, interaction of transition
each equation a petal, or a flower, in and of itself
I desire the answer
I do not desire the answer
I watch the equations, make known the horse
