we deify ourselves, immortal past the gauntlet
when the flesh is shed and interim is all
wheel turning, wheel turning, concentric ego motion
straining to the membrane where skin defines our caul
and deified get down upon our haunches
wash away the itch that rides the meat
when our writings sing out, amoral vast and daunted
when the flesh refines the flesh and experience is all
tickled to the pleasure, rote upon the wheel, concentric elevation
straining to the feeling wherein nerve decides us all
and deified we wash each other's haunches
remind ourselves that gods define the meat
