A Poem For My Wife
January 18, 1999
normally I wouldn't boast - but I've a wife that's best, the toast
at last my answer has come clear - I've got a wife who beats out beer
to hold the one I love so near - the beer stayed in the basement (24a)
and to her dedicated verses - I try to write and fail
she's my loved of Syktyvkar - heat and head when I'm cold and dumb
I knew I loved her when the cat - er... perhaps I'll leave out that...
and so I write for her a poem - but I think I'll hide this one, gosh
