that tears would melt no stone
that tears render no answers
that stone posed but illusion
of obstacle and fascination
that tears would melt no stone
that stone posed but illusion
of one's own waste reduction
that tears would move no holding
nor merge one's molten sorrow
that sorrow blessed no home
more here than free tomorrow's throne
that seat of ripping passion's glum
struck dumb the broken murderer's own
that tears would melt no stone
illusion pressed to beggar's harbor
no resting place nor cleanly muster
that tears rendered no pictures
nor sweetened salty waters
that tears would melt no stone
nor cast aside confusion
all these and more like tears
and quiet isolation's years
I place before your fear's last harvest
killed harbor unmolested
that tears would melt no stone
nor clear long levied heart's congestion
consecration blurs its own
like tears - and heat - unknown
