striped plastic straw on the table
resting it's smooth against my skin
where I'd stuck it in to ease the pain
bleeding said - a cure to all
leaching away sucking the evil dry
spreading stain nor ever again
fast food chain plastic consecrated
one hand grasping orange drink
draining the glass to replace the drain
grey about the edges fainting away
bleed enough and the pain will fade
jade for eyes I drank and slid
grey my light from grey my days
too much more the price to pay
tired greys the faded straw
I pull away
