When I initially set up Prosody, all message data was stored on the boot drive as a temporary solution since I didn't actually have a dedicated disk for other data. This 'temporary' solution unfortunately became relatively permanent and needs rectifying.
I will move the message data over to a directory on a LUKS encrypted SSD and configure Prosody to point to this new area. I will need to take the server down while this is being done.
The message data was migrated successfully without any issues whatsoever!
