The Apprentice: Northern Irish star one of 'most successful' winners to appear on BBC show

Dr Leah Totton wowed over Lord Sugar back in 2013

Sophie McLaughlin, 29 Jan

The only Northern Irish winner of BBC's The Apprentice has been revealed as one of the 'most successful' to ever appear on the show.

Dr Leah Totton from

Co Derry

wowed over Lord Sugar back in 2013 when she beat out her fellow candidates to be his new business partner.

New research conducted by UK financial services provider

CMC Markets

used the latest financial reports from Endole to discover the latest report of net assets in each of The Apprentice winners’ businesses to determine which of them is the most successful.

Dr Leah, who owns a chain of cosmetic procedure clinics, was ranked the third most successful winner with net assets of ÂŁ664,490.

She follows Ricky Martin, series 8 winner, in first place who received a ÂŁ250,000 investment in his recruitment company that now has net assets of ÂŁ2.26 million.

Series 7 winner Tom Pellereau is in second place with his beauty business Stylideas boasting net assets of ÂŁ1.37 million.

Dr Leah Totten

A spokesperson for

CMC Markets

commented on the research: "As a new series of The Apprentice gets underway, it is interesting to look back at past winners and their businesses to see how Lord Sugar’s investment made a difference.

"Not only can the investment from Lord Sugar be transformative for many contestants’ business but the brand recognition from being featured on the show can also greatly increase the winner’s chances of successfully running their business, even many years after appearing on the series."
