I kinda just searched for "best free rpgmaker games" and this came up.
Efina is a very special young girl. She's curious. She's optimistic. She has the power to make lies manifest as physical beings, and then she eats them for sustenance. She's also a dragon.
It's a trilogy of very short freeware indie RPGs.
Meh. The premise is interesting, finding contradictions in people's statements is kinda neat, but the overall plot is pretty basic. Same with the gameplay (the game even intentionally hides some God Mode items which let you optionally skip all combat). Probably the one defining feature of this game is the very juicy pixel art, with each little game in the trilogy getting its own color palette.
The individual games are so short and so cohesive that it's best to think of it as one whole game (this is how HLTB categorizes it, anyway). Overall pretty nifty for a short freeware game. *6/10*
I'm just causing trouble for myself again. In the last post I mentioned that I started testing a work-in-progress Wayland driver for Wine. Well, this game did not play well with it. It caused a huge memory leak which completely filled my RAM and caused the entire system to hang... Since the driver is in early development, it is not supported by Wine's issue tracker. *I ended up emailing the developer in charge for the driver and sending him a link to the game - he said he'd found the cause of the bug, but it will take some time for him to fix it.* As far as I know, there is no fix yet, but just getting any kind of response to my email was pretty cool. In the meantime, Wine works fine on Xorg.
