haven't been around much! little updates:

the novena was lovely. the familiar words kind of fade into the background like some elaborate mantra meditation. there's enough variety and breaks between the sets of mysteries for the brain to not completely zone out, but enough repetition for bits of trance-like relaxation. an hour of prayer forming this sort of loving container for the whole of your real self, without judgement. you can bring your vulnerabilities, your hopes, it's whatever you need it to be. after the big novena finished i wanted to join in the rolling 54-day thing the way of the rose has going on but so far it doesn't hit the same. 15 minutes is not enough to settle into it.

the novena was accompanied by journaling with the lioness oracle tarot and i've dug out an old study journal i had for it, i'd stopped literally in the middle of the deck around two years ago. feeling like maybe i want to go back to it. it's definitely a "tarot time". (art and reading haven't been going all that well. it's tarot and gaming). also played around with the thoth a bit. enjoyed trying the motherpeace spread

summer is a season full of "occasions" for our family. there was already a lot of running around trying to get presents for anniversaries, birthdays etc. tiring. but also i managed to make a necklace after getting a set of jewelry pliers. i hope mom likes it. the same pliers allowed me to re-make my fave prayer beads into a rosary, from a knotted string to wire loops. it's got a little acorn in place of a crucifix, reminds me of the ecological aspect of the gospel according to the dark

what else? continuing search for new apartment. bit of a breakthrough: the last one we've looked at was actually livable! and modern! pvc windows, no wallpaper and linoleum bullshit, grounded sockets etc. alas, there was a mix-up with the dates (and some doubt around internet speed). and the neighborhood was somehow simultaneously very sleepy, nothing-to-do, assisted living facilities, /and/ involved in some grenade crimes like a street away? so, not great. but my hope is renewed, now that i've seen with my own eyes that it is actually possible to find something decent.
