Benchmarking the Generic Image Decoder (GID) — The Ada translation of PyJpegDecoder runs more than 500 times faster than the Python original! Also, Ada GID library is faster than ImageMagick 2.8 times faster with GIF files. 1.4 times faster with PNG files. 1.2 times faster with JPEG Baseline 1.9 times faster with JPEG Progressive.
