I don't think the high score is serving much of a purpose currently. I would suggest automatically resetting every week, or maybe just removing it altogether?

It's useful for me to see. I like trying to beat the high score and I think I'm more interested in that than tournament placement. Could have high score of the week on that page too?

I do agree knowing the all-time high score has value, so you can get a general feel of how your game went. However, 10k points seems to be the ceiling in practice unless one is exceptionally lucky one day. I have a feeling the all-time table will not be changing often so I question the need for a table... (Also, you could remove the "placeholder" @gritty. 🙂)
A weekly high score would spur more competition and more frequent sense of achievement.
@gritty I agree that having just the single all time high score listed is a good idea, and then weekly high scores in a table could be fun
