What would it take to start a pubnix business? And, as most of them are free, what services and at what price points would make it worth paying a few ($10 and under) bucks a month?

These are just a couple ideas, btw, as I'm also in the middle of setting my own up (as mentioned in a previous post made by the user kjn) with access to gemini and gopher protocols. It's not yet set up for those protocols yet, but the pubnix is up and running atm. There's more info here

I wouldn't say so much "business" as it is "public service". Along w/ that distinction, in terms of "price points", there are ways to restrict user-level permissions and IG if you want you can tie them to certain "registration tiers" to encourage a sort of incentive to behave, and operate according to whatever set guidelines and terms of use you dictate over your page w/ appropriate license(s), that people can donate in order to secure access to those levels of permissions to actions or programs.

NOW, with all THAT out of the way, besides any of that ofc you need a domain. There's domain hosting at namecheap.com and also epik.com that's p easy to secure. · 10 months ago
