Info on using NoiseTracker VAMPS-gs under GS/os system 6

Welp, aren't you tired of having to keep all your NTVs on disks?
Tired of having to make separate areas on your HD that boot up into
Freeos? Well, your troubles may be slightly over.
This file will explain how to play NT Vamps under GS/os system 6
from your hd. Note that VAMPS was not designed to originally play
this way, and different effects may be produced than intended when
using this method.
First, copy the following files from the NTV disk with your
favorite version of the jukebox. If you wish, you can create
different folders to contain different jukeboxes with the modules
which were intended to be played with them.
Copy the file FREEOS, renaming it to something more appropriate so
that it is never mistaken for an extra copy of FREEOS for inclusion
with another disk. Many of the timing values which control the sound
attributes are determined by the particular version of FREEOS used.
Warning: don't change the filetype or aux type of the file. The
compression utility that crunches the system files on all disks
released by 1WSW will not operate properly if the filetype is anything
else than $0000.
Next, copy the .SYSTEM file on the NTV disks with the copy of
FREEOS you selected. This may be called either SB.SYSTEM,
SMART.START, or something similar. This file contains a modified
version of the ProDOS Basic Interface (Smart Basic,) and also helps
with the VAMPS effects.
Finally, copy any utilities used by the jukebox that may be used
on that disk. Such as VAMPS.CODER, UTIL.0, etc to your HD's
subdirectory.
Last, what you've been waiting for. From your selector, launch
the renamed version of FreeOS. This may seem a little strange, but it
is what you need to do. Normally, this will start the jukebox in that
folder, and will beginning playing the NoiseTracker-gs VAMPS modules
associated with that jukebox.
If the system crashes, it is commonly due to the fact of an
interrupt condition such as that which is generated by the CDA
Background Sound, or inits like UltraBlank. If this happens, try
booting GS/os with the shift key down to avoid the loading of the
inits, and launch the renamed version of FreeOS again.
You will get no results if you launch the .system file, as GS/os
is still active. Note that after launching FreeOS GS/os will be
dumped in favore of the new operating system, and you will not be able
to quit from the jukebox back to GS/os. To get back to gs/os without
rebooting, type CTRL-Reset, and type "-prodos,s7" if your HD
controller is in slot 7. This will reload GS/os just as if you
rebooted the computer.
