How to make cannabutter

Equipment

Ingredients

decarb flower in oven

Most of the psychoactive compounds in dope is inactive due to being bonded with carbon. While this step is not strictly necessary as the simmering in later steps will activate some of the compounds, its best to decarbonize the flower in an oven to maximize its potency. Remember to keep the temperatures low (200-230F) and not overcook it too long.

1. Put crushed up flower in mason jar, seal it tight

2. put jars in oven BEFORE turning it on

3. turn on oven to 225F (200F for quantities less than 7g)

4. leave herb in oven for 30 minutes

5. take jar out, let cool to room tempurature for 2-3 hours

Helpful/interesting yt comments on decarbing

Mason Jar Decarb by Potent Pontics (VIDEO REFERENCE)

no matter how much material it still needs 27-32 minutes I'd decarbing to get 100%, be careful too long and you convert thc to cbd
What happens to the moisture? It gets absorbed back in and its not moisture as you use dry cannabis you are trapping the terpines which are absorbed back into the cannabis
Saturated fats work much better for cannabis infusion. The best option is coconut oil as its a saturated fat but does not act like one inside the body. Otherwise unsalted clarified butter works great for thc absorbtion.
the canabis color should be like a light brown-ish color
if you're using less than 7 grams I'll go 30 minutes at 200. Overcooking only puts you to sleep it's a No-No unless I guess you want to sleep. And remember you still have no less than 2 hours in your butter margarine oil or whatever your using. Enjoy be careful it can turn into a nightmare if you eat too much too fast test the waters if you will.
Don't the rubber mason jar seals melt in the oven? No, mason jars are designed to withstand high temperatures since traditionally you need to boil them in water (212F) in order to get them to seal.

Butter infusing

How to make easy/potent butter simple 2 by Edibles 420 (VIDEO REFERENCE)

1. Wrap decarbed flower in several layers of cheese cloth to make a ball to catch the leaves in

2. Melt the butter at low temp until completely liquid

3. mix in some water to melted butter, put in enough water to completely submerge the flower cloth ball;

Let everything steep at a low simmer for 4 hours. Hot enough to see the steam rise out and maybe a few bubbles pop up but no more than that. at any signs of boiling or high simmer lower the temp back to lowest possible.

If water levels get low pour in more hot water until bag is fully submerged again

every 15-30 mins I stirred the bag around around and pressed on it with a spoon to jostle around the flower and make sure everything is as solvent as possible and to check up on everything.

4. Once the 4 hours are up, let the mixture cool a little bit, put cheese cloth in a strainer, strain out the butter-water mixture into a bowl. Squeeze out the herb bag of any residual butter juice into the strainer as well

5. fridgerate mixture for 2-6 hours; butter will seperate from water and form a solid top layer. Use a knife and cut into an edge of the butter and pry on the solid butter sheet to gently loosten it up for extraction

6. store butter in a container of your liking and discard the water. Thc is non-solutable in water so don't worry about wasting it with water dumping

simple chocolate rice crispy treats

Ingredients

Process

1. measure and melt 3 tbsp of butter in a large sauce pan

2. once the butter starts to liquify mix in the bag of marshmellows until all of them are thouroughly coated with butter

3. turn up the heat to between low and medium and let the marshmellows melt completely

4. once marshmellows are completely melted and it seems reasonably 'liquidy', remove the saucepan from heat and mix in the rice crispy cerial and chocolate chips.

5. stir everything together until everything is properly mixed/it becomes too difficult to stir. Then take a spatula and dump/pat down the mix into the pouring tray to settle for 15-30 minutes

While its still warm I recommend taking a knife and cutting it into cubes
