Hello Station! This is me, posting from my first Gemini client written in Rust. It's not very good as for the 10 status code, I have to hard code what I want to send at the moment. Ultimate goal is to eventually have a client that can do basic browsing on Station.

Very nice! I was thinking about writing my own client at some point, too; except I was going to try to use Python with either FLTK or Tkinter, so I can run it on my mid-2000s Mac hardware. · 6 months ago

Now here I am posting from Lagrange! The Gemini protocol isn't very difficult but nice things like "a user interface", "actually being able to follow links without having to copy/pase", "handling more than just text/gemini", "not having to hard code things", and you know "basic error handling" do tend to add to the complexity of things in a basic client.

But I'll take my small win for today! 🙌 · 6 months ago
