Kildare County Council has been asked to put in traffic lights at a
junction on Blessington Road, Naas
Cllr Anne Breen said this is needed at the the exit/entrance junction
from Elmwood and Chestnut Hill on to the road, Naas “in the interests
of road safety and proper traffic control.”
Donal Hodgins, a KCC engineer, said the area will be examined by KCC
staff “when resources permit.”

But he added it should be noted that the junction is located in a 50
km/h zone and it’s a mature cul-de-sac estate, with adequate
sightlines at the entrance.
Separately, Cllr Fintan Brett asked KCC to examine the possibility of
providing a crossing on the Blessington Road from Elmwood “to
facilitate wheelchair users, children and other pedestrians in the
estate.”
This request will also be assessed.
