Today was surprisingly jam-packed!
After spending the night in Olvia, I headed back down to the coast to check on my garden. I had managed to grow a little bit of wheat! I also grew a useless twig, but it turned out to be not so useless after all, cuz that pirate kid Adrian (what a character) found a way how to use it.
Anyway, I found some time to fish in the meanwhile.
I decided I was going to have an adventure. I decided to travel to the southwest again, this time with Chanteuse rather than Clover. A few days ago, I had surmised that I'd feel safer with Chanteuse... well, I wasn't exactly right.
I explored further south than previously. There were some spectatular sights -- this bridge in particular offered a neat view of the river.
The *first* thing which made me feel unsafe was that I had encountered a skeleton come to life! That was, how do you say, HORRIFYING? But I'm not *scared* (just horrified). I fought as hard as I could, but I'm not sure if I was any closer to killing the hideous thing. Or -- wait a minute, how does one kill something that's already dead, like a skeleton? I don't know. All I know is, it wasn't dying the way I expected, so I panicked and Chanteuse and I ran away.
We didn't go back exactly the way we came. Instead, we took a slight detour. Part of me is glad that I did, because I got to behold a tremendous waterfall.
And the *other* part of me is even more horrified at the winged beast gliding over Hasrah Cliff! He only made his presence known by swooping in out of *nowhere.* After this, Chanteuse and I ran straight all the way to Heidel without looking back.
The trade manager in Heidel -- Suitka, I think her name is? (I really should know this by now) I bought three kites and sold them in Velia. That's when I noticed a little house in Velia for sale! Well, actually, I've always noticed houses for sale everywhere, but this one spot in Velia called to me, and I had enough money for it and some basic furniture. And besides, after that horrifying journey, I would *kill* for a place to go back to which I can call my own.
I don't even have a bed yet... I guess I'll just sleep on the floor. But I think I can start a little life in here, me and Tikki.
