I did not get very much done today, but considering what I went through, I think that's appropriate...
Perhaps the most useful thing I accomplished was that I finally located the storage manager in Heidel. He's all the way to the south, near the river. I exchanged some silver into gold bars and now they're in storage.
And that's when the fun begins.
I bought some goods from Heidel Clover carried it all for me. I decided to head to the southeast and explore some lands I had never seen before. There is a major archway which basically signals where the safe zone ends.
Closer to Heidel, there are some spectacular views and some rocks I had never seen before, including bloodstone.
If you continue down this road, then one finds a very dry and arid land, and the secluded Ahto Farm.
And this is where my troubles began. This area is *filled* with bandits, and these horrible rock golem creatures who very badly hurt Clover and myself. So, I turned around and headed down another unfamiliar path, which was patrolled by bandits even more belligerent than the first ones! I was intrigued by the strange structures they had built into the face of the cliff, though.
Clover and I had enough, so instead we stuck to a familiar trade route, towards Velia. I'm writing this from inside the shipyard in Velia right now. What an unnerving experience. Clearly, I should learn to better defend myself. And maybe next time I'll take Chanteuse instead -- he's far more agile and I feel more comfortable relying on him to escape from danger.
