Installed Debian on a mac mini recently. Using 'b43' drivers, the wifi card worked fine at home, but when the device was deployed to its office location, it got on the order of 50kb/sec. It was pretty bad. So I installed the 'wl' driver and now it works great.
Would that we could all be ath9k...
