Floppy Drive

Yesterday, I was able to help a neighbor recover a document off of a floppy disk. The document was something her mother had written a long time ago about her homeland (Germany) and the lady was really hoping she could get it back.

My aunt passed away two years ago. It doesn't feel like that long, and I think about her all the time still. It was a tragic, untimely death. She was hardly 60. She left behind an old computer from the 90s at her father's house, and I took that home with me. It has a floppy drive.

Her computer was the one I used helped my neighbor. I thought of my aunt. It still hurts, and I still miss her very much. But I like to think she helped me do somethink kind for someone. And that felt nice.
