The past two days I've talked about technology I'm interested in using to build desktop applications and spotty bi-directional support in Gemini clients. This leads inexorably toward my current misguided mission. I must build my own Gemini client with proper bidi support using Tauri and Solid, obviously.

Two Days Ago, on Tauri and Solid
I am using multiple technologies I've never used before, though they are similar to ones I have, to build a kind of thing I've never built. This chances of this succeeding are admittedly not great, but I have this journal to keep me at least minimally accountable, so I'll keep you updated in a new section.
The name is tentatively Steely, from the phrase "steely-eyed missile man", which while initially popularized during Apollo was almost certainly in use at NASA during Gemini.
Currently it can take a full URL, request the content, and nicely render the body of a "20 text/gemini" response. That's literally it, so far.
