I bought a snake today, of the plumbing variety. Our bathtub and bathroom sink were both draining increasingly slowly, and my wife had been persistent in reminding me to resolve the issue. So there I was snaking away.
I had no idea how to snake a drain. It turns out to be a remarkably simple and remarkably disgusting process. You force a flexible metal coil tube deep into your drain, twist it about, and pull up the nauseating clump of hair and muck previously blocking your pipes.
Owning a house means near daily maintenance tasks just to keep up with the breakage, decay, and wildlife incursions. After owning this house for ONE year, I could tell dozens of stories, from drafts and leaks to mice and ants, etc.
Most of it I deal with myself. I am responsible for my wife, my children, and my house. Thank G-d I have been entrusted with so much. As you lift the burden the burden lifts you.
