~davidvkimball

I just got a Ultimate Hacking Keyboard V2 and I'm loving it so far!

What's your favorite one you've used?

Currently I'm using Razer Ornata V2 after using some random 10$ keyboard for 10 years I just wish I could find a really really quiet mechanical keyboard

I would love to have time to learn it, it is fun and very configurable.

Just under 10 years ago, I needed a keyboard for my new computer I built from salvaged parts. The entire computer cost only $300, and of that, $100 was just the harddrive so you can imagine I was on a tight budget for everything. I needed a keyboard so I went to my local office supply store and picked up their cheapest keyboard, a Logitech K120 for $15. Flash forward to now, and I'm still using that exact same keyboard. I've since upgraded computers, a few times actually, but the one constant is that keyboard. Its been through some abuse, and man is it starting to squeak on some keys, but as far as key feel and overall build quality, I haven't even seen a $100 keyboard that can come close.

Embarrassingly I've always found mechanical keyboards too be too large for me so I'd have to say that something like the ThinkPad X220, Freewrite or even Apple Magic Keyboard is my favourite keyboard. I would be interested in trying a low profile mechanical keyboard though
