I keep thinking about giving it a go but the lack of any kind of login or fde really bothers me. It's a shame as I know I'm not the only person put off by that. The last time I looked through any kind of discussion on the matter the project didn't seem to even entertain the idea of adding such features. Other than that it looks like a really interesting system.

Yes sir. I daily drive it bare metal on my E555.

I've messed around with it a bit

I‘ve tried in on a Packard Bell dot netbook and really wanted to like it, but sadly, the WiFi hardware was not supported.

You can probably replace it. That’s what I had to do. I got a supported WiFi adapter for $15 on eBay and just swapped them inside the laptop.

I've got it in a VM, but it seems it can't do any sort of display scaling, so it's impossible for me to use when it's all so tiny on my display, and I have a feeling booting directly into it will have the same issue. It's a shame, I've always been interested in BeOS and HaikuOS, but this is a major roadblock for me. High density display combined with aging eyesight :)

@istvan, nice hint. I didn't think of such a possibility, thank you.

Fun little OS. I run it on bare metal from time to time. Amazingly everything works well. I was a big fan of BeOS back in the day so it's just like old times!

I have installed Haiku on a HP630 thin client, connected to an ethernet wire, without a problem. Surprisingly, I found out that it is not possible to display a desktop rotated 90 degrees. Unfortunately, this is exactly how I intended to use it as there is just this portrait mode space left next to my main monitor. Oh well.

I use Haiku from time to time on my Panasic Toughbook CF-19 to see where the development state is. i plan to use Haiku on a vision five2 if the port is more mature :)

have utm vms 64 bit and 32 bit - hoped that CTP might run in the 32 bit version but alas no:-( i use the 64 bit version from time to time to see where it's at - i still miss beos:-(
