Seeing as Martin Rue is the man who made his own social network and runs it on martinrue.com I guess we are all calling him John Mastodon now
The yak shaving continues. All documentation systems focus on libraries and how to use your software and none on how to understand your software. And we don't apply basic typographic principles to reading code. So of course I have to write a thing that takes source code and compiles it to a more readable format, and off to the races I go. Yak, yak, shave the yak.
Started breaking out a smol SQL parser to build a very smol DB. The plan is to support SELECT, INSERT and DELETE with WHERE and INNER JOIN only and make a dB a directory and a table a aub-directory and a row a text file names after the primary index. It's really a learning environment for very, very new programmers. Exciting!

Started writing a Gemini server in Erlang. Took a whole to remember how to code even, let alone Socket programing but the client is now making the server hiccup so end-2-end yay! Just a small matter of programming. Not to neg on other Erlang/Elixir devs but jeez connector pools with ranch? Roll your own loop ladz lololol.
doing a pensioner-eurorail holiday just pottering about Europe on trains. Its good but slow. Coming home to Scotland from Naples will take us three nights and 2 1/2 days lolol.
hey @martin I experimented with emoji domain names a couple or five years ago and struggled because email just wouldn't work but mebbies Gemini is the place for it ;-)
