I once bought and XBox and Ark for my son for his birthday. It took until the next again day before he could play it. Updates required. Nothing has changed, except the updates are getting larger. I despise Microsoft and resent the countless hours of my life I have wasted over the years on their proprietary crap.

If 100GB are 1/2 of your diskspace it's not the fault of the game, sry. It's 2022 and not 2002... · 2 years ago
@swan I've just decided to do without - still on Windows 7, and my life will be Windows free when that's no longer useful. With the XBox, I had a feeling it was going to be a bad idea in when I got it, and I was right. · 2 years ago
@smokey I feel your pain. I sometimes think they change a texture or add a minor feature, and trigger yet another 100GB update. · 2 years ago
I would love to ditch Windows altogether but the software gap is really holding me back from fully switching to Linux. Valve's Proton has really made great strides in the games department though and I'd love for that to bleed into other software types too · 2 years ago
Tried to install ark in my pc the other weak. I just didnt have enough room in my hard drive. Blows my mind just how much space modern games take up. I dont care how big of an open world it is or how 4k your textures are, when a game requires more than 100GB of storage room, when people are complacent enough to sacrifice 1/5 to 1/2 of their hard drive to a single game, something has gone horribly, HORRIBLY wrong. · 2 years ago
