The Mandelbrot set is so interesting. If you've not heard of it before, check out this awesome, beautiful visualisation of it.
Bonus: watch it for a minute or so and then look at an object in your room. The effects are so fun!

This is awesome. I remember playing with a program to zoom interactively into fractals back in the '90s. Anyone remember its name? Ever since, the Mandelbrot set has been a staple app for every language I've ever learned/designed. Most recently: https://merveilles.town/@akkartik/106209414768288448 · 2 years ago

If anyone would like to know more about the technical side of the mandelbrot set, i highly recommend the 4 part video series made by The Mathemagicians Guild. Out of all the countless videos ive watched on the mandelbrot set and its technical inner workings, i personally think they are some of the best avaliable. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9tHLTl03LqG4ajDvqyfCDMKSxmR_plJ3 · 2 years ago

@kevinsan I know, right. It's a shame it interacts so poorly with video compression algorithms. It's really hard to convince people to download the uncompressed video, even though it's absolutely breathtaking. · 2 years ago
@marginalia The name Nebulabrot does nothing to convey the mesmerising beauty of that. Truly awesome! · 2 years ago
If you don't mind a very slow 5Gb download, check this out I rendered a while back: https://archive.org/details/NebulabrotFractalTumblinginFourDimensions It's unfortunately not possible to upload on youtube without losing the amazing degree of detail. · 2 years ago

@kevinsan Nice, will check that out, cheers. · 2 years ago
That was awesome. YouTube offered me a great 'up next' (I was glued right to the end!). It's a visual explanation of the Mandelbrot set. https://youtu.be/7MotVcGvFMg · 2 years ago
