Midnight Pub

What books has the pub been reading?

~kai

Hiya pub, It has been a while since I posted, i decided to check in on my fellow pub dwellers, how are you all doing, I recently moved to my home country(UK), so that has been a huge adjustment(I've lived abroad my whole life so far). Adjusting to a new place and school is hard, but it's part of life.

How are you all doing, and as for today, what have you been reading.

I recently finished Arthur C. Clarke's Childhoods End and William Gibson's Idoru, both fantastic sci fi novels. Currently I'm reading World War Z by Max Brooks, its weird, but intriguing.

If you have been reading, I'd love to know what, and just how things are going for you guys.

Have a good day :)

I read couple of Kurt Vonnegut books recently. First was his famous 'Slaughter House Five' and second was the sci fi satire 'The Sirens of Titan', however, the second made me tiresome to go through it and I honestly, didn't like it.

I've been slowly chipping through Terrible Old Games You've Probably Never Heard Of by Ashens, a popular YouTuber. It's actually pretty funny.

'Pompeii' by Mary Beard, I've read it a few times over and I LOVE it. It's just this deep analysis and speculation on what Pompeiian life could've been like, and ther'es pictures of all the artifacts they found in the ruins.

I've read 1Q84 by Murakami but didn't like it as much as Tokio Blues. Now I'm rereading The Fifth Head of Cerberus by Gene Wolfe. Really astounding.

I'm reading A Desolation Called Peace, by Arkady Martine. I'll admit the first book was more riveting, but it's a "came for the fun sci-fi ideas, hooked by the thriller, stayed for the characters" kind of thing.
