As an idea, community-powered Q&A sites are certainly useful as they are an efficient way to share knowledge. However, the problem here on Gemini is the small scale. StackOverflow works (worked?) because there are/were many people willing to answer questions, and the answers were of high enough quality so that many others found them helpful, kept coming back, and perhaps contributed answers of their own. In Geminispace, we likely don't have enough people to pull this off.

So in theory 👍 but in practice 🫤

"Auragem Ask" is an implementation of this. I think it saw a little use when it first came up, but it looks like the database was wiped since then and it's looking pretty empty now.

Auragem Ask looks similar but I think it would be nice to not have predefined topics. Also a listing of latest questions would be good. But yes; 100% would beed something like that.

Something where people anonymously submit questions about life advice and others can give answers might get more traction. Like a dear Abby mixed with yahoo answers. A dry q&a doesn't entice much, but life and relationship problems are evergreen.

Thoughts on a "stack overflow"type q&a app for gemini? I think it'd be helpful. Not just for programming questions.
