fractals

Pretty Pictures

Recently LibreHacker has been posting some fractal images on the gemini aggregators.

Seeing someone else breathing some life into the gemini-exclusive fractal content makes me very happy! Its relatively rare to encounter another fractal enjoyer 'in the wild' outside of specific fourms and chatrooms. Nice!

In the spirit of sharing cool pictures of fractals, here is my contribution for this post.

sierpinski-algae.png

This is a shot from a microscope, in it we can see algae cells arranging themselves into two conjoined level-2 sierpinski triangles.

Updating the FC

The Fractal Compendium needs some more entries and some major rewrite ups to some of the old ones. There isn't even have one for the Mandelbrot Set (outside the FAQ which I had no hand in writing). Some fractal based post I made need to be indexed into the FC too.

The Fractal Compendium

Some fractal related glog post that need to be added to the FC:

Newton's Fractal & Magnet Maps post

Some thoughts on the book 'Deep Simplicity'

Free Fractal Documentaries You Can Watch Right Now!

A Deep Dive Into The Logistic Map

Collecting The Colors Of Infinity

Immortal Typewriting Monkeys' Infinite Card Shuffles, and All-Knowing Libraries

That last post is a maybe since there is no fractals per say, but deterministic systems and cyclic behavior do appear a lot in both so I think its conceptually related.
