In another inexplicably titled Blondie film, the Bumsteads decide they must impress their friends and make them think they're wealthy by paying for 40 of them at the high school reunion. Dagwood decides to get the money by betting on horses, but loses his job when he invites the handicap teacher to the office. Blondie tries to make the money the sensible way, by uh... selling strange women's hats, but Dagwood uses the money to bet on a race. The gambling house gets raided, so even though Dagwood's horse won he doesn't get his money and ends up in jail. Luckily for him, he saved the wife of a potential business partner, Mr. Breckinbridge, from getting caught, and he bails Dagwood out of jail. Dagwood gets his job back with Mr. Radcliffe somehow, I guess to stop him working with Breckinbridge, and Radcliffe pays for the reunion.
And no, none of that was funny. It was so boring that I watched half of it two months ago, gave up on Blondie movies entirely, and only now have I come back to it.In fact, I forgot that I watched any of it until I started it over again and some of it seemed familiar. None of the hallmarks of the series are here. The kids, which are generally the best part of these things, are hardly in it, Blondie and Dagwood's relationship never seems in danger, and while Dagwood does pound a desk a couple times, he doesn't punch anyone. I can't believe they made 8 more of these.
