I'm sure everyone felt helpless so many times. It's a very common experience - seeing something wrong happening, which one can do nothing about. Only thing that can be done - watching and being sad about it. Well... so it seems sometimes. Fortunately that's not the case!
God can do anything He wants to! That's one thing. The other, also very important is that we are His children. His beloved(!) children. Therefore we, His children, can and should ask Him, talk to Him about everything that happens to us, both joyful and sad things. Here is what I see as a problem, and not a small one, among Catholics. We really don't believe that God truly loves us and is listening to our prayers. Just ask pretty much anyone if prayer is important.
I'm quite sure that many people, also Catholics, consider prayer as a mere conversation with myself. In that case, there's no surprise, that:
Sad as it is, that's *absolutely* true! You can't pray to yourself! If you want to pray, and that's a *good* thing, you need to direct it towards God. How? It's just a matter of will and faith. If you believe that God is listening and you want to talk to Him - that's it! You're talking to God, you're praying. Otherwise - it's just thinking or speaking loud to noone but oneself.
If you want to pray, you *will* experience fight. Not *possibly*, not *maybe* - you **will** experience fight. Why? Because devil wants to stop you from praying. He knows, that if you stop praying, you are an easy prey for him. You may feel that you really don't want to pray, or that there are better, more important things to do. Those are devil's lies. Just start praying, start talking with God. He is very close to you. Closer than you can imagine!
