Guess I got behind on posting so will have to list things bullet style. Spoiler: nothing very interesting has happened.

- So we went to see the cherry blossoms and that was lovely. Unfortunately I came down sick afterwards. Even more unfortunate, it took me a couple days to realize it was just my spring allergies because I just took a load of tree pollen to the face. I didn't have allergies before the Land of Crab, so the past couple of springs it's been like, why do I feel so miserable? This cold bug makes no sense, been sick for days and the nyquil does nothing! Is it the 'RONA?? Oh right, it's allergies. So that was a complete waste of a couple days. I'm doing my nose sprays now.

- I've got krill oil capsules and when we are out getting groceries today I will get some liquid B complex. I used to do a whole vitamin regimen, I figured out which ones to take with which and everything, but slacked off when we moved here. Most vitamins are a waste of money, true. Someone told me an anecdote about a guy who had the unfortunate job of emptying porta potties and how there would be a bunch of little pellets at the bottom (undigested vitamin pills). Maybe it's an urban myth. But ever since I try to do chewables or liquids, and since gummy vitamins have too much sugar, here we are. I remember omega 3s and B complex being good for brain health and helping ward off depression, so we're gonna get some. I like taking vitamins and supplements because it makes me feel like I'm running a scientific experiment on myself. Sure, I could go to a real doctor and get a real prescription but that ruins all the fun and will cost, I dunno, $50 or $500 or $5000? No idea, they make up a pricetag. "First world health care" my ass. So let's just tinker around with stuff I can pick up for $20 instead and see if that helps.

- I have still not seen the otter at the lake. I am wondering if he's more active at dawn. Maybe I should go for walkies before 8am.

- I got some pina colada spiked seltzer and it's disgusting. I was getting something nice for dinner and I picked up a locally made hard seltzer as a treat. Normally I really like their lime flavor, but I like fizzy water anyway. Snarky comments about spiked seltzer aside, it's a low carb adult beverage option that I can get where beer is sold because this state is messed up and if I want a bottle of rum or vodka I have to go out of my way to a completely different SPECIAL store, but beer and wine are broadly available. Plus sometimes you just want a single serving of adult beverage. But they were out of lime flavor and I thought, how bad can the pina colada be? BAD. I have to cut it with ginger ale to make it palatable. Then I forgot that when you're on keto your alcohol tolerance is super low, so I accidently got myself smashed on pina colada spiked seltzer and I have a fucking. hangover. from two cans. (I had the first can, and I thought, this is disgusting, is it any better cut with this ginger ale? So I had to try that out.) Humiliations galore. I am hiding the hangover from spouse. Don't tell.

- I've decided to try intermittent fasting on days spouse works. Calorie counting is just not for me, I don't have the patience to be as exact as I would want to be if I were to go hard. I fooled around with logging calorie counts years ago and that was a fucking nightmare because people just put up whatever nutritional info they like. How do you make sure you are using accurate info?!?! It made me angry; I gave up, probably for the best. So why not just eliminate eating for certain times? Seems simple and easy. I have been skeptical of IF because it feels like an eating disorder with a nice wrapping, but they say it lowers blood pressure and I could probably use that. I don't have a job schedule to keep me too busy to graze. So far it's okay, seltzer hangover aside because I had that right after not eating. We'll see.

- I feel a little lighter and the walks are getting easier, so that's good. I don't like weighing myself. I have that obsessive streak and I don't need to wind it up with a hard number and give myself something else to be depressed about. I try to focus more on how I'm feeling. It will be a good while before there's any visual progress.

- Saturday I walked over to see if the local flea market was happening. Nobody was there, BUT I spotted the historical society building AND got a copy of the PRINTED NEWSLETTER. Flea market will start first saturday of May! Turns out they do have a good website but the search engines certainly aren't serving it up. Which just spotlights what has gone wrong with search engines, if you can't access the most relevant info because everyone and their dog is playing the SEO game. Who has the time and patience to sift through 20-30 returns that try their hardest to make it look like they're exactly what you want, but definitely aren't? Are they purposefully burying what you want to make you waste time clicking on paid listings? I'm mad. (I just checked to make sure I am not an idiot - I searched the exact name of the historical society, went 6-7 pages into listings and this website was not in there. Their facebook page is blocked with a login requirement I can't figure out how to get past. Why is everything so fucked? I used to like the internet and now it just makes me angry.) Anyway, huzzah, local flea market in May.

- Spouse is possessed by a brainworm so that's all he's on about lately. He's revising a RPG setting he made up about 2 years ago when we got into the genesys system (previously we ran Savage Worlds). When he gets into a writing mood, it sucks up all his attention. So we're playing related movies and spitballing scenarios back and forth. It's good fun, we make good creative sounding boards for the other. I think he's hoping once we move we can either play locally or run an online game again. We've run online for campaigns before, but between our hamster powered internet and his work schedule, plus being east coast when our gamer friends are west coast, online sessions don't work at the moment.

- Spouse found out the training class for April is full, so unless he gets called in as a last minute alternate, he prob won't be going away until June. That would be okayish, we'd be moving in November. I just really really really don't want to have to move in Dec-Jan-Feb. Plz Uncle Sam, no.

- Side note, the capitol police officer killed a few days ago was well known for playing the X-Wing strategic mini game. Nerds aren't common in law enforcement/fed jobs. Spouse has a dickens of a time finding co-workers he can talk any sort of gaming/fandom stuff with. Even just Harry Potter or Avengers or garden variety stuff. (One of his co-workers was surprised to learn DnD is a real game, not just made up for Stranger Things.) It strikes me as especially sad to know the officer was part of the local gaming community. Spouse has a similar risk level where most days are far less dangerous than pizza delivery, but then you could get that one bad encounter. Fed gov is becoming more of a target. The dice just roll ones sometimes. I dunno, feels more personal.
