A resident of Suncroft has received his 23rd conviction for public
disorder.
Judge Desmond Zaidan convicted Raman Badalov, with an address given as
Hawthorn Wood in Suncroft, for the offence when he presided over his
case on Thursday, May 23 last.
Gardaà told the court that on the night of March 11 last, the
45-year-old was spotted in a 'highly-intoxicated' state by gardaà who
were in the Brownstown Manor region of Brownstown, The Curragh, at the
time.
When he was approached by the gardaÃ, he told them to 'f**k off' and
also began shouting at random people nearby.
He pleaded guilty to the offence.
The court was told that Mr Badalov has 92 previous convictions, 22 of
which are for public disorder.
Defending barrister Mark Gibbons said that his client had previously
struggled with alcohol, and is now sober after attending rehab.

However, he said that his client had suffered two instances 'where he
slipped up', and that the incident in question was one of these two
relapses.
Mr Gibbons added that his client was remorseful for his actions on the
night.
Judge Zaidan pointed out the defendant’s previous convictions, and
imposed a two-month custodial sentence on Mr Badalov.
He set appeal for Mr Badalov at €400.
